I am installing 5x20w surface mounted downlights in the kitchen, i have a 105w transformer (dimmable) which just has two wires from it ( no earth ), anyway i would just like to know what cable i should use to connect the lights. Focus and B+Q only seem to sell 0.5mm twin cable which it says is for lighting and small appliances ( fuse 3amp and max 720w ) or something like that.. would it be ok to use or should i get a bigger size twin cable. Thanks

you can use that, but most electrcians would opt for 1.5 twin and earth

Breezer, Would you recommend using 1.5mm T+E instead of the 0.5mm - would i just connect the live and nuetral and cut back the earth??

electricians will use 1.5 t & e because they have loads of left over also it does depend on length of cable run (but as i said 1.5 mm t & e is fine)
