Hi- I am converting an integral garage to 'habitable' but half of the concrete floor is too high if I add insulation as per building control (7.5cm Celotex and floorbords at 1.5cm) due t0 its typical 1930's slope. The excess height is about 3cm, over about 3x2m. I need to avoid a step or slope which my grandmother will trip on. Can I 'shave' off 3cm or so of concrete in any way? I don't want to dig the whole thing up, and I have to keep my grandmother. Could I for instance angle-grind down 3cm or so in parallel lines and chisel out the remaining raised blocks? Tedious I know, but digging out would be awful. Any suggestions very gratefully received.
