The cast iron boiler failed back in August 2005 and was replaced by a new stainlees steel one. Since this time the domestic hot water has been luke warm at best.

The system has been drained and refilled several times and checked for airlocks. The pipework does not appear to be furred up?

The AGA temperture is normal and the unit has recently undergone a full service.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Roger

Sounds like the boiler was not fitted correctly. It must have a good contact with the main combustion chamber for the heat to conduct across. In my limited experience of delving into the entrails of AGAs, this contact is achieved with clamps that press the boiler against the chamber.

I suggest you have the AGA opened up by the boiler installer to check that the clamping system is working and that their is no insulation getting between the two. Also AGA have their own Forum, so posting there should get you a more authoritative answer.

Thanks for your help.

I had an idea it had to be something like that. Appreciate the info on the AGA Forum.

Regards,

Roger
