Hello,

found this website whilst looking for an online nstruction manual for a Vaillant Ecomax 828/1. A freind has this fitted in her house, but had no instruction manual supplied on how to set it.

the issue is that although the central heating appears to work fine, the hot water is unreliable and too cold. when the tap is first run, it is quite hot, but then it goes luke warm and stays that way. The house is rented, but the ladlord hasn't managed to fix it yet, and doesn't have an instruction manual either.

Are there any online sources for instruction manuals? Alternatively is something like this a common issue? the control panel on the boiler has 2 led red displays and a number of setting buttons, but without knowing how it's supposed to be set, I wouldn't want to start experimenting with the controls and making it even worse!!

Thanks in advance

This is a rented property.

The landlord has an obligation to ensure the boiler is working properly.

The tenant and the tenant's freinds should not be tampering with the landlords property.

The obvious solution is to exert pressure on the landlord to get it fixed by a professional ( who must be CORGI registered...you can ask to see his card before allowing access to the boiler ).

If the landlord refuses to get it fixed then you have two options, complain to the local EHO or give the landlord three day's notice that as he has not repaired it in a reasonable time then you will get a boiler engineer to fix it and deduct the cost from the rent.
