As part of a larger job, customer asked me to look at a Lutron Rania dimmer which is acting up.
The set up is thus - two banks of 12v halogens each controlled by a twin Rania dimmer two wayed with a similar Rania twin without the led indicators, one side works fine, the other will work but then cuts out and the led indicators flash, it will re set after a while, I phoned Lutron and they said it was sign of overloading, I swapped the 50w halogens for 35w and changed the switch for a new one, it still acts up but stays on longer
I was there today and when the lights are switched off on either bank I can hear what sounds like a relay switching over above the ceiling, I dont want to drop the lights out as it is an extremely tight fit into the plaster board, but could there be a control box tucked away up there?
