mac alister pressure washer

hi ,just bought a secondhand mac alister 5 pressure washer with a briggs and straton engine ,the guy said it was a 2 stroke but not sure ,he bought it and didnt use it ,can anyone tel me if its a 2 stroke or 4

i know nothing much about combustion engines, but would a 2 stroke engine have only 1 spark plug?

no

a 2-stroke engine has no valves, camshaft etc.

post a pic of the engine and it will probably be easy to recognise

Another good clue is to look for an oil tank and oil filler. Simple and older 2-strokes do not have one as the lubricant is mixed with the petrol. there may be instructions for oil on the engine.
