Macerator question

We have a small salon in the house installed what I thought was a macerator

But I found it getting blocked with hair I thought it should grind down the hair what makes me think thisbis just a pump and not shredding at all.

Question is what's the best solution keep in mind I can't run it into the drain I have had to run it to the sink waste then it goes under the floor and my drain is out the back.

No macerator will handle hair. They're designed for 'soft' material. i.e. Human Waste and Tissue paper only, they liquidise, rather than cut. That model looks a cheap copy of the better known models, and even they wont cope with what you're asking.

You'll need something a bit more heavy duty I'm afraid, look at sewage pump stations, with a decent size pump that will handle solids etc.

Why not just put the hair in a bin bag?

Put hair traps in the sink and empty them regularly.

The sewerage system is not designed to deal with hair - just like wipes & sanitary towels - it should not go down the drain.

You are correct, that unit is not a shredder, it is just a small grey water pump. Hope you didnt buy it from that advert listing as a lot of the claims made in it are BS. You might get away with a different model but it will need a regular clean out so main drainage is best.
You say the pipe runs underground, well in that case it is not allowed to rise again anywhere!

We do we have a drain guard but some still gets through what is then getting the pump stuck.
