Magnacleanse connection via Fernox TF1

Hi

Just managed to get a Magnacleanse complete kit 2nd hand which I collect tomorrow

I have a TF1 22mm installed & want to connect the Magnacleanse via the TF1 isolator valves

Please could you advise how I could connect this up as I’ll need to buy some extra bits to connect is up, I think the connection to the TF1 is 1”?

Need to be able to connect this to ¾“ drain hose to the 1” TF1 connection, is there any push fit that can take this type of hose

Thanks Rich, is there another way of connecting it without one of those (i.e. elbows, hoses, reducers) as they are about £65

Adey state they can work alone without a powerflush, simply closing of each rad in turn & using the VibraClean, have watched a few vids doing this without a powerflush

Finally picked up the Magnacleanse, it appears to have 3/4" & 1" BSP fittings

The Fernox TF1 uses 1" fitting so I have ordered 2x 1 Inch BSP Brass Male x Female Elbows to connect to the TF1 isolators

Will update the post when I have the Elbows to confirm that it fits

I new to this stuff, so a bit confused. If you already have a magnetic filter fitted, why do you need the magnecleanse? Does it come with a couple of extra pumps (like a powerflush), or is the magnacleanse just two magnaclean filters in series?

I had the TF1 installed from when the I had the boiler installed 3 years ago but have been having problems with kettling & have had to add 3 different lots of x800 to get the system clean

The system was power flushed including the magnacleanse which the installer used, I'm not convinced that the installer used any chemicals when they flushed the system, as the system is now completely black with sludge

I want to be totally sure that the system is as clean as it can be before I put in a new pump & 3 port valve

Even after 3 lots of x800 & refilling nearly 5 times the water is still black

Dan maybe right the TF1 may not be doing a good job of catching the all sludge, as the magnet isn't in direct contact with the water, I may decide to change it to a magnaclean if I find that it isn't keeping the sludge out of the HE, it may be that it's the amount of sludge that the TF1 cannot cope with

@Samuelle22 -- it doesn't come with a pump it's just another filter with stronger magnets to get the system clean

I will sell it once I have cleaned the system, only paid £240 so will resell once done so it won't cost me anything

Get a professional in who now's what they are doing. It will be cheaper in the long run than a bodge job flush that may do more harm than good.

Thanks but the installer was supposed to be professional, cannot trust them, shall only use a for Boiler servicing only, that way I know it's been done correctly by myself

Had to purchase the Fernox flushing adapter as the elbows were too big to fit one side by side

Have now cleaned the system & got the water as good as it's going to be

The Vibraclean certainly did the a really good job of getting rid of the loose debris inside the radiators, even after the 3rd go over 3 days there was still pieces coming off

Then connected a garden hose to the flushing adapter & flushed the Hex + each rad in turn which really got rid of all the rest of the crap out of the system

1st time using the vibraclean got this much out

2nd time

3rd time

finally 2 days later

The water is very hard in this area

Tested the mains water with a TDS meter & it's getting 280ppm from the tap

Tested the water in the system & the reading was 310ppm

Is it worth me fitting a aquadial combicare filter to the mains water supply after the kitchen tap as the boiler was kettling which I started this process in the 1st instance would this affect the PH of the water in the CH by fitting one?

It wasn't aimed at other installers, plumbers just the installer that fitted the boiler, it was just a rant....
