Hi John...If the shoes are cheap then presumably someone's getting diddled. Not the retailer, nor the purchaser, but perhaps those involved in the manufacture. This is possibly undertaken by kids in the third world maybe in Pakistan, Mexico or, er, Wales. At least with
these you know some chappie in Northampton is taking home a proper wage. Your conscience will decide, John. From you I expect favourable results. ;)

Shoes are personal thing, I like to try mine on before I purchase, make sure they fit snug.
So mail order, I would not entertain it.

Same here. I used to wear DMs every day, but since they switced manufacture to overseas, they just don't last.

May try some Clarkes.

Same here on the Dm's, we have DM's safety boots at work and they are as hard as nails to walk in now.

Do people really buy shoes from newspaper adverts?

When I buy shoes I might only go to one shop (unlike a woman) but I will always try a few pairs first.

I bought a lovely pair of "real leather" brogues of 't tinternet.
When they arrived, I opened the box to find ,,,, Something that looked like they had skinned the cow , whilst still alive.

The shoes would have looked great on some Spanish waiter serving you after about half a dozen pints and shots. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

you should spend as much as you can on shoes.... they are not a glove....
