Main Combi 24he Boiler

Hi ALL

I have an issue with my boiler - MAIN COMBI 24HE basically the problem is that the Central heating just turns on and runs all the time even if i have the boiler on Hot water only setting. I am having to keep the boiler off and only turn on when i require hot water and which again then starts CH to run aswell .. It started just a few days ago or i notice then. There has been little water leak coming from the diverter valve but thats not new been like that for a year but could that be linked?

Diverter valve 'diverts' primary water between DHW and CH, so it's pretty obvious that getting heat down the CH pipe when running hot water points to that being at fault. The fact that it's leaking is even more of a giveaway

Or you have a faulty frost stat, could also be a main thermistor gone out of calibration.

I think you have two different problems but get the diverter valve fixed first then take it from there

Regarding the divertor valve will this be a full replacement or can be serviced etc ??

Easily serviced and the service kits are not expensive, if the leaking water has got into the DHW microswitch at the front of the valve that could be why the heating is constantly on

It can be serviced and kits are available but extent of problem may go beyond. Won't know till you take it apart and service.
