Would be grateful if anyone can help with a problem concerning my Glow Worm 30 CXi combi boiler. These boilers are known to have a weakness with the PCBs, as turning them off on the power switch on the front of boiler often wrecks the PCB when it's turned on again. This has happened twice, and it's an expensive luxury I can't really afford.

Is there anything I can fit, possibly to the mains supply to the boiler, to stop the surge or whatever damaging the PCB when turned on again? I'm imagining some kind of device, maybe wired in between the fused spur and boiler.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

You seem to be describing a product which is not 'fit for purpose' - what do the manufacturers have to say about this 'known issue'?

Without knowing exactly what is causing the issue, it's hard to say - again, the manufacturers are the ones who ought to have an understanding of the nature of the problem - and hence the potential 'cure'.

Kind Regards, John
