Hi.
In a bedroom I have a cupboard which I would like to make better use of.
It is built in over the staircase below so the bottom of it is around 800mm from floor level. As it is 950mm deep and goes up to ceiling height, it is pretty impossible to reach the back of it.

Total sizes are 1500mm height x 950 mm depth x 650mm width

I thought about making something similar to a pull out kitchen larder unit.
Obviously it would require to be a bit more heavy duty!

Has anyone come across any kits that may be of use. All i can seem to find is kitchen stuff.

You could fit trombone hanging rails from front to back at the top and a couple of draws on plans chest runners at the bottom.

I was thinking about heavy duty sliding rails I've used to mount equipment in server racks, then realised there was a cheaper way.

Put a cheap chest of drawers on wheels so you can just pull the thing out for easy access, or just make a giant skateboard from something like a chunk of kitchen worktop.

He will need big wheels , sits 800mm from floor. :)

D'oh! Missed that, got carried away...

But, it wouldn't be too hard to fit some sort of fold down ramp inside the door....

To return to the OP's post, I suppose boarding up the existing cupboard doorway and making a couple of new doors in the side, so you have a 950 wide x 650 deep cupboard is out of the question?

Well yes as that would mean it would be out of reach above my head halfway down the stairs!
