been offered some good quality doors cheap, is it easy enought to make the holes as they are not pre-done or do any companies make the holes?

Buy an endmill bit, and do these with a normal drill.

A vertical drill holder will help, but is not essential

An Endmill is a cutter used for metal work not woodwork, and FWIW an endmill will not plunge cut as the teeth do not go all the way to the center.

By a hinge bit something like this

I'm sure woody means the same thing but you may get some odd and expensive results if you google 35mm endmill ;)

Yes, they've always been endmills to me!

But they are the same as hinge cutters

thanks lads

Is it possible to get a guide so to get the hole in the correct place so they line up?

I use a marking guage or a combi square

And mark the centre with a panel pin or nail indent so that the bit does not move when starting to drill

As these are replacements, use the old doors as a guide

Im buying these for extra storage in the utility area. Will have the buy new carcases as well, so no old door to use

Just did this at the weekend :)

Popped down the b&q and bought a 35mm bit that was exactly what I was looking for.

Drilled a 2mm pilot hole in the door and then used the new bit (dunno what its called - forstner?) in a standard drill and 2 minutes later was fitting the recessed hinges and putting up the doors.

No problems.
