The other day I noticed a curious long mark on the veneer of a wall mounted loudspeaker. From what I can see, the speaker is made from chipboard finished with a veneer. Have you seen anything like this before? I'm wondering if there's a worm or beetle working it's way along the wood. There seems to be some disturbance of the chipboard edge on the back of the speaker. I'm reluctant to take the speaker apart at this stage, but it does look like the joint at the bottom is starting to split anyway. Have you any idea what this might be? I've now marked the position of the mark with a pencil so will see if it's getting bigger!
