Marley Thrutone. 600x600 or 600x300?

I'm covering my garage with Marley Thrutone. I was planning on using the 600x300mm version, but ridgeons quoted for 600x600, which I didn't actually know existed.

Would 600x600 slates be suitable for a first-time roofer? Would they be quicker to install and require less mounting hardware? They sounds like a good idea to me, but I thought I'd better ask you guys first.

They are available for using at verges and valleys ect, but I can't see why you could not use them.

600x600 slates are sold as blank slates to cut into abutments or verges, they do not have any nail holes or rivet holes and are not really supposed to be used on main roof areas.

Each slate would require 2 nail holes and 2 rivet holes to be made in each.

Stick with 600x300 slates which come with all holes ready made,

Ah. I see now. Thanks. I'll just stick with the 300mm width ones.
