Finished the kitchen and got round to the floor, managed to get the old Marley self stick tiles up after a lot of hard work and have got the new one's to go down, the supplier said use Ball f45 acrylic adhesive saying this will be okay on asphalt, reading the instructions it says you should use a neoprene primer after washing and then Stopgap300 and lay the tiles on this.
Given the grief i had getting the old one's up which were laid straight onto the asphalt and have been down for fifteen years i tried a piece of tile straight onto the asphalt and it seems to be well stuck after 24 hours, the floor is level apart from a couple of area's that i will remove and fill and then use some Bal apd to seal the cement, just need some input on this one regarding the suitability of the f46 and the chance of a reaction/failure of the adhesive.

when i do wetroom saftey flooring (altro)...

depedant on the area (for traffic...light-heavy)..you will need to use a primer and a slc...
the primer will bond the slc to the exsisting floor,if not you could have a total ...de-donding (have seen a few)..so imo go with the advice you have been giving..

i.e. primer/slc/f45/tiles

for the slc, if its not a very heavy traffic area then you could go for the stopgap Green bag this will do light to heavy area, the 300 is for VERY Heavy traffic..

as for the primer maybe look into their acrylic primer 121..

dont forget to use the correct size notched trowel also..

for the addy follow instructions..i.e serate the floor and leave till it goes tacky(5-10min),..then put your flooring down...

wee tip when smoothing off...get a peice of 12mm ply about 12"x12"...and a bit of carpet and stick the carpet half way round both sides of the ply with the addy, and use this to smooth out the flooring taking out any air pockets etc..

tictic,
Thanks for the reply, the bit i cannot understand is the need for the leveling compound when the floor is ok,can see that the primer say P131 is to get the slc to adhere to the asphalt but would the F46 adhesive not take to the primer if i just used that?
Must be all these modern chemicals as i was tempted to buy a large tub of Evostick and use that as it will stick like the proverbial to a blanket, perhaps a bit late in the day but can you clarify that it is asphalt,it is a dark brown colour that smells like tar when heated and appears to have fine sand mixed into it(can't you just tell that i dont want to mess about with slc)plus never used it before.
