Masonry Screws

I'm putting up some shelving in the garage, I have metal brackets with M10 holes.
Are these Masonry fixings suitable for a rendered breeze block wall?
I'm assuming the pilot hole is the same as the bolt size?

The pilot hole is less than the screw gauge so it can bite in the material. I used Spax concrete screws in concrete block and with care drilling the hole - you don't want it oversized for obvious reasons - it held better than a conventional screw and plug fixing.

The manufacturer normally specifies the hole size on the packaging and some will even state different sizes for different substrates.

A 10mm hole is certainly easier to fix into.
