Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could identify this mortar colour - I'm not expecting an exact match, just something close. It's for some minor patches so if I can get something pre-mixed all the better.

Whilst we're at it (and less crucial) can anyone identify the bricks? The property was constructed in 2010.

Thanks

Mortar colour? Unless it's ready-mixed batched gear from a specific supplier, then the term mortar colour identity, does not really exist.

What tends to happen with manually mixed on site stuff is the builder choses a sand available locally and mixes to his own preference. Another builder may use the same sand and add more or a different brand of cement, and come up with a completely different colour.

You need to look at locally available bulk building sand (preferably and orangey brown coloured sand) and experiment. Otherwise, seek out a ready-mix supplier and they will offer you a choice of colours available. Not cheap though, and usage/wastage can be an issue.

As for the brick - I'm not sure whether I'm seeing a stock brick or a London brick. I don't suppose you have one lying around?

There's an Ibstock Cottage Mixture, but that's a stock brick and I'm not sure exactly what yours is...?
