Hi, my small kitchen extension has dragged on for ever and left me with very precarious finances. I had a Junckers beech floor in the lounge which will now run into the new kitchen and wanted to get more of the flooring to match into the old floor which had been taken up and stored. I saw some Junckers Beech floor on Ebay and bought it and got it home but it is much lighter than mine, which is a redder tone. I thought it was probably just the varnish and i needed to sand it all anyway so not a problem.
But i have test sanded a patch on both woods and the blond wood i have bought is just blonder than the original floor. Yes without its varnish mine is lighter but still much darker than the other. I have looked at the back of mine which says it is Bog (danish for beech) flammet which google translate says means been rekindled in Danish.
The lighter wood i bought says Bog/Beech 12 on the back.
Having paid for the wood on ebay and then paid for it to be brought over to me it would be a disaster if i could not use it. But there would be little point in laying the floor and it looks terrible.
Does anyone have any advice for how i might make the woods match up. I dont want to have a really dark floor as the house is rather dark anyway. Is there any chance i might use a stain that makes the lighter wood look similar enough to the other wood, or have i just made a reallly stupid mistake.
Thanks for any thoughts
Tessa
