Gregers,

Can you tell us what software are you trying to use to write DVDs?
Also, what operating system are you using? i.e. XP or Vista

What would also be helpful is the make and model of the DVD+/-RW drive. In XP you can find this out by right clicking the DVD+/-RW drive in My Computer, then click Properties. Click on the Hardware tab then you'll see a list of disk drives. One of which will be the DVD+/-RW drive; it will be listed as type DVD/CD-ROM drive.

Have you been able to write CDs/DVDs before?

Jay

jay, thanx for getting back to me,
its a matshita dvd ram rw drive.im running xp with sp3
and ive been trying to copy stuff through windows.
but i think ive sussed it now?i downloaded astro burn and it has managed to burn a dvd disk, but it wont let me open it up??
so im assuming i need something like power dvd or something to get it to work properly, yeah im sure when 1st bought i could copy dvds but with various upgrades and rebuilds the driver/s have gone walk about,if i can get it working the way i have done so far id be happy.
