matsui ms452s dishwasher

I have a Matsui ms452s dishwahser, its less than 6 months old and for some reason the salt light wont go out even if the resevoir is full of salt, i dont think its feeding into the machine in fact as i havent filled it for a while now and knives etc can come out rusty, any ideas any one please?
