Hi,

I have a plum tree in my garden which has become too wayward and needs pruning. The tree is about 20 years old. Can anyone give me some advice on how best to go about pruning such a tree? Is there a right and wrong time to prune it? It has just started blossoming. Are there any techniques that must be followed to avoid killing or damaging the tree?

THanks,

J

You should've pruned it in January or February; certainly before Spring Equinox.
Now the blossom emerges you've missed your chance.
Best wait for next winter.
