Maytag Washer - Stopped during cycle

A 'dependable care' unit approx. 11 yrs old. Today, during the spin cycle, the tub became off balance & stopped dead. Rebalancing the load (as done before) did not solve anything. Now, the only thing that works is filling the tub. No agitator, no drain, no spin. Once the tub fills, the motor does not engage. I've reset the machine & tried all the cycle choices. Any suggestions?

Check your lid switch. I'm thinking your lid switch broke when the tub went off balance. This washer will not agitate or spin with a broken lid switch.

Thanks. You were on the right track. The switch was fine, but it got jarred & was not getting activated. Repositioned the switch & all is well.
