My washer fills with water but does nothing else. Changed fuse to get it this far.

What fuse did you change? One in the fuse box in the house? If your Maytag washer fills and just sits there dead, you may have a lid switch problem. These type of washers sit there dead after filling if the lid switch is not working properly. This is assuming you have a top loading Maytag washer and not a front loading Neptune.

changed fuse in washing machine control panel. And going to check lid switch first and timer switch. Thank you
