mcb bi6 tripping & sparking

Hi there
need some advice please.
The mcb is in a crabtree starbreaker board.
the trip switch has been switching off for 2 - 3 days.
when switched on again the mcb sparks & pops.
have tried removing & replacing all appliances etc: to find the overload; no success with this; even when only 1 plug is left in the switch still trips.
all suggestions gratefully needed.

remove all three wires ie live , neutrall and earth from you box and test with a multimeter for short circuit between the wires then start removing socket fronts etc to find it

you have a fault, get an electrician in to check it

put a photo on my website of a faulty socket, you can see the paper on the plasterboard had started to burn.

Best to get these type of things checked out.

what have you done prior to tripping. Sounds like a dead short. Have you done any drilling or picture hanging, or perhaps introduced a new appliance that has a fault, even a mouse that may have chewed a cable. Could be a long draw job finding good luck. Is it definately a ring circuit as if not unplugging wont help you.
