MCB making strange buzz noise

One of my 6 amp MCBs in my fusebox is making a strange buzz noise, even if there is no load (lighting circuit).
Could the MCB be faulty or could there be an underlying problem with the electrical installation?
This has been going on for a couple of months now.

Is it advisable to try changing the MCB, or should this only be undertaken by a qualified electrician?

I used to have that problem with the plug-in MCB's for the old Wylex Standard Range fuseboxes. I would be pretty sure that it is just a dodgy MCB, rather than anything else.

I would recommend you get a qualified electrician to have a look at it. If it's just a dodgy MCB, and it's from a popular brand, he shouldn't charge you much.
