I am currently producing about 30 mdf offcuts per week, 9mm thick by approx 840mm x 1220mm (33" x 48") and these are being cut up and binned. I would very much like to see these being re-cycled, and if I can get a bit of dosh for them so much the better.
I advertised these in the local free-ads and shifted about four of them. Can anyone think of a way I could contact someone in some kind of a trade which might find these useful?

yellow pages ?
i see what you are saying but i wouldnt hold much hope, for a trade to want them, they will probably have to "fit their criteria" why not ask local schools if wood work dept wants them, or put some nails in a bag, stick it to mdf and sell them as flat pack boxes or make one into a circle, cut a slot half way down two others, put the two slotted ones together, put the circle one on top, instant table (i was being serious)

its a real shame a third of a sheet every time

now i know you have probably got it complety sussed and this is more to inform people that you can get such a thing and also its about 3 inches short[probably].

have you considred the use of 10 by 5 sheets

Have you thought of trying Ebay? If nothing else they will be collected from you.

Breezer I have seen these tables and I will look into this. The school idea is one I had not thought of, I will phone them today.

Big-all yes I know it's a shame, I would really like them to be put to good use somewhere. As for the 10' x 5' sheets I will send you my cutting list and if you can come up with a way of producing smaller offcuts using any combination of 8' x 4', 10' x 4' or 10' x 5' then I will be eternally grateful. :)

Hi,

Came across this great forum when searching for MDF offcuts. I am always looking for 9mm and 12mm offcuts for various craft projects. I am in Ayrshire but could travel within reason or it would be uneconomical! Did you find a use for them yourself?
