Our bathroom has floor to ceiling tiles and I want to replace them with grooved MDF, apart from in the wet areas where I will fix new tiles. Would it be sensible to apply the MDF over the existing tiles (if so, on battens or using a grip adhesive?), or would I need to remove the tiles first?

You could glue on top, will need some type of edge to work too unless full height.
