Who is causing this ? Is it un vaccinated foreigners ?

Apparently measles has an R 15 designation meaning those who have it on average pass it on to 15 others ??

And the covid 'virus' has apparently an R rating of 0.7 ;)

You are mistaken in thinking that ignorance and gullibility are restricted to foreigners.

It's people who think "it won't happen to me (or my child).

And people who think that being vaccinated is more damaging than having a disease

I have no objection to Darwinism in action, but it is sad to think of children becoming sick, scarred, disabled, blind or dead through no folly of their own.

I heard the interview and that is not quite what was said. The R15 quoted relates to a scenario where a population has never had exposure to it or any vaticination for it and it is suddenly introduced.

The decline in the uptake of the Measles vaccine, stems from the time of Covid.

Moronic Anti-vaxxers caused massive disruptions to all vaccine programs, Measles being one of them.

Freedom of choice my Arse.

It's quite normal for transam to post his opinion, based on some vague reference to what he heard somewhere. But he never povides the source of his information so we can check it out.

Not that they're thick or gullible, just that they probably don't have vaccination programmes where they came from, so are unvaccinated.
It's the unvaccinated British people going on holiday, contracting the illness and bringing it back to UK.
The increase in measles circulation is mainly associated with travel to and from Europe where there are large ongoing measles outbreaks. Young people and adults aged 15 and over who missed out on MMR vaccine when they were younger and some under-vaccinated communities have been particularly affected.

Bujt of course typical right-wingers will blame the immigrants.

That's the R0, which is what is normally quoted. The effective R value depends on levels of vaccination, herd immunity, non pharmaceutical interventions (staying home if you're ill) and so on.

Measles is very infectious, more infectious than the common cold viruses. COVID was something like 2-4, which itself is high, flu is something between 1 and 2.
