Hope someone can help me. Have a mechanical timer for heating(a clock like dial that turns 24hr.) which has broken. It has 2 on clips and 2 off clips, and a day of the week dial. It also has a switch (on/timed/off), and thats it. It doesnt have a seperate setting for ch or hw, it just is all on or all off. Problem is that the only marking is "AMF Venner 5/73, which i assume is the make, but I cant find one anywhere to swap it over. I just want to change it for one that works, and therefore use the existing wiring to swap it over. Has anyone heard of this make, and any idea where i can get one. If not is there another make which i could swap it for to use the existing wiring (as you can tell i am not an electrician). Any help would be much appreciated

thanks for that. Seems to be a few which will swap. Sorry to be naive but getting a bit lost with all the wiring diags. If i take existing timer off wall and take off cover, will it be obvious as to removing each wire and placing it in same place on new timer, or is it more complicated than that? thanks so far

seen ch controlers wired all different ways, would help to know how many cables are in yours, and colours, if just 2 red / 2 black, and earths its straight forward, alan
