err think ik works off convection but im not sure 
You can put a three prt valve to control a flow to an unvented cylinder BUT YOU MUST also put a two port vale to the flow of the cylinder so that you can guarantee that it will be isolated from the heat source in the event of any problems.

If a new installation it's cheaper to use the 2 port supplied with the Megaflo plus just one more 2 port for the CH.
Don't forget the auto bypass even if you use an existing 3 port, as the 2 port in series with it will shut.
