mega rip off

a mate of mine owns a camper van with 2005 a 2.8 fiat engine 30000 miles on clock, just broke down, took 3 weeks to find the fault at main dealer ,turned out it was the injectors it needs all 4 , the cost of which is a wopping £800 each, total cost £3200,
how can they justify that cost so be careful out there all you fiat van owners.
anyone got any ideas he has try the net and ebay but no luck

get them reconditioned at £800 a piece i wouuld buy second hands ones if needed

I'm no expert, but I find it hard to believe that all four £800 injectors have failed. I smell a rat.

And I don't think they will be 800 quid each.

Ther are loads of small back street car and van engine repair shops that will remove the injectors and remanufacture them .

there is no way an injector can cost £800, it would be cheaper to buy a new van and swap over the whole engine!!

this a 2.8JTD engine?

I'd guess it was a fuel pump rather than all 4 injectors messing up at the same time..

wouldn't this also be better in the cars forum?

it was all four injectors ,had to bring in fiat expert main deal could not find fault, COMPUTURE FAILD AS WELL to find fault, and by the way gcol if you smell a rat call cumbria commercial trucks and ask if they can get recon or 2nd hand bits they and friend trawled web ,ebay ,newish car scrapers ect but all a big no, but if you can find them we would love to hear from you ,you should put them on ebay and watch them make you big dosh, (you of little faith)
CHECK THE COST OUT YOUR SELFS.

what's the odds of you ownlng 4 cars, and they all breakdown at once? no way you lose 4lnjectors at once, no one knew what they where dolng.

lou , i said when i posted this item it was a rip off, but i am not lying , you know the old saying (murphy's law). good news though you can now i am told get a patten copy injector at £250 each £1000 + vat and fitting for four, but fiat wont give you a warranty with them to late for mate he got the fiat ones. (and pass the word to all who drive a fiat 2.8 van.)
sh#t happens but it still stinks.
