Hi I have the above boiler and got up yesterday and had a freezing cold shower, the boiler doesn't seem to be heating the water at all. The timer and the emmersion heater seem to be working as all the lights are on! It has 2 guages on the boiler but I am a novice when it comes to sorting it out any suggestions pleases I want a hot shower!!!

Carefully check whether electricity is actually getting to the terminals of the immersion heater

Check whether an overheat stat on the immersion heater needs to be reset. If it does the main stat may have failed and need to be replaced.

Test the resistance of the immersion element in case it's failed open circuit.

Thanks for the reply the immersion switch is in a seperate cupboard all I know is that it seems to be ok there is electricity going to boiler and I have tried reseting the thermostat but the button is so small I am not sure if it is moving or not! Probably something needs replacing I am such a novice not even sure whether to get plumber or electrician to fix it! Any advice greatly appreciated

I'd try a plumber first, look for someone with a current 'G3' certificate. This means they are qualified to work on Megaflo's and other unvented systems. They are fitted with some safety devices that need to be checked (annually is recommended), so this could be done at the same time for peace of mind.

Do you have a gas boiler or is the Megaflo heated by immersion(s)? It could be that the immersion is blown, this will account for no hot water! Immersions do have a limited lifespan, can depend on hardness of the water.

Hi no gas just electric water boiler with timer and immersion. Thought I'd cracked it before reset thermostat again and it started making noises that sounded like it was heating up but still no hot water! Thanks for ur help think I will phone the plumbers who fitted it tomorrow cheers

Possible the reset may have sparked it into life, but there's a fault which caused it to trip in the 1st place, and once its reset will do exactly the same thing again. Think best option is to get it looked at.

Curious as to what the gauges are you refer to....

I have hot water! I reset the thermostat once more then went away and forgot about it just went to wash my hands and lovely hot water loads of it! Thanks for all ur help and advice
