megaflo

i just moved into a rented house with a megaflo and boiler : i use the megaflo to heat water ,boiler is off as summer..

can i fit a manual timer to the megaflo on/off switch; was planning on getting one from screwfix etc how long does megaflow take to heat-up so i can shower in morning and evening.

Just use the boiler. It is quicker and cheaper. A 170- litre megaflo will take ~3 hours to heat fully off the immersion.

What you and others dont realise is that these cylinders have very efficient insulation.

Each day they lose about 7p worth of heat when heated by gas.

So little as to be irrelevant!

Although at 2kW in 24 hours, it is a little more expensive than 7p .
