I need to have a mains pressure hot water system installed in my house in order to get a very good shower in the loft area (2 bathrooms incl power showers in total)

I am most likely getting a new condensing boiler but am unsure whether to get a MegaFlow or a Thermal Store + Heat exchange unit in one.

I like the idea of a thermal store more - but is this less applicable to a residential installation ?

Which system is more efficent - is this dependant upon the level of usage ?

Any advice gratefully received...

Chelmer say their thermastore tristore has a recovery time that is three times faster than a conventional UV cylinder. This one is integrated with the heating system though.
Heatbanks Pandoro looks quite a good piece of kit and would be suitable for what you require though will be more expensive to purchase than an UV cylinder.
You should measure you mains flowrate before you make any decision on either system.

I am getting the mains preassure checked this week.

Also any advice on where to locate MegaFlow / thermal Store - Garage Vs 1st Flr Bedroom Vs Loft Space ?

The uv cylinder ?. The garage for ease of piping the discharge pipe which is an important part of the installation.
The pandoro ? Loft space , as piping is a doodle but if you have a 1st floor hot press where you have space then thats where I would put it.
Remember you can diy the pandorro so any savings you make installing the cheaper UV cylinder will be lost on the more specialised installation which requires G3 certification.

When I had my loft conversion carried out, I retained my boiler, Y plane system and had an Albion thermal store installed. I can't praise it enough!!!
Lots of flow, plenty of hot water on demand and what is a simple and effective system. Don't know why there arn't more of them.

Hope this helps
