Melamine sheet

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy melamine sheeting, which can be cut and glued onto timber? Can you buy different colours?? I've searched everywhere but without any luck.

Melamine is applied as a liquid, as newboy says a laminate will be the nearest. Formica is the most commonly known but Decamel is thinner so may suit your needs better. It comes in many finishes, colours etc
