Hi there

I don't know if anyone can suggest anything... I have a balcony/roof terrace that I thought had a concrete base, but when we had a barbecque i've melted a plate shape hole (about a 1cm grove) in it, and there's a 6inch patch of bubbly black tar that has cooled and stuck.

I figure I can patch up the groove with sealant, but not sure what I can use or how I can remove the bubbly patch.

Can anyone suggest anything please? My landlord is not going to be happy with me!

...been sanding it down with course sandpaper. Does *anyone* have any suggestions for the best sealant to use before repainting? x

Sounds like it`s mastic ashphalt........if it looked like concrete...smooth :?: ...........reheat it and smooth with a trowel...then sprinkle with fine sand........that`s how it`s done when laid...Just an idea

...Thank you! any idea how hot it'd need to be heated? I have no tools except a lighter and a candle!

Thank you all for your help! I owned up to my Landlord and he's getting it re-asphalted in the bad area and tiling over it :) Better than trying to do it myself!

Thank you again x
