meta screw sticking out from wall

Hi,

I've got this metal bolt sticking out from the wall. I don't know what it is, I've tried unscrewing it and it does but I'm not sure if it's safe to do? I've taken a video of it below. Any advice welcome.

That looks like a cap that might be used for sealing a gas pipe. Do not try to remove until you know what it is!!!!!

Ok, thanks! Can I do anything to hide, I don't like it sticking out of the wall like that.

Now you've disturbed it, and considering it is almost certainly a gas pipe, you should get someone in to see if it is still live, and now leaking.

If it is not live then you should be able loose it in the wall.

Defiantly an old lighting point get a gas safe engineer to cap off under floor then strip the old pipe out.
