Metal kitchen sink

I am replacing a kitchen sink from ceramic to metal. Going back over past threads there are many mentions of earthing the sink!!! Some go back before the Part P new requirements and before amendments to 7671 so am getting confused.
When should I ever bond a kitchen sink???
