I’ve re-wired a whole house not long ago.
What part of the UK are you in?
When you rewired, how did you go about deciding what cables and protective devices to use? Copying what was already there was not an option because it became your responsibility and what was there might have been wrong.
Did you know which circuits could be ring finals and which could not, and what the advantages and disadvantages of each are? Copying what was already there was not an option because it became your responsibility and what was there might have been wrong.
Did you know that the way in which cables are installed affects how much current they can carry? Copying what was already there was not an option because it became your responsibility and what was there might have been wrong.
Where cables need to be joined, did you know how this should be done / not be done and in what circumstances were different methods acceptable?
Can you identify extraneous conductive parts, and did you know the requirements for main and supplementary bonding of them?
At the time you rewired, which circuits should have been RCD protected?
What testing did you carry out after the installation? What sequence did you do them in and at what point did you energise the installation, and for each test did you know what was being measured, why it was important, how you would carry out the test, and with what equipment, and what sort of results you would have expected to get if everything was OK?
What did you do about an EIC for the work?
