Looks like I have mice in the garage which have taken the bait without triggering the trap.
They'll be asking for a bloody menu next :mad:

You are never going to catch them with your trap set like that.
Its very sensitive as it nearly took my finger off when setting. The mice must be so lightweight to be able to lick off the peanut butter.

You can't just put a trap in the middle of a room and expect the mice to be in the exact position when they are taking the bait.
Make it so that the mouse has to approach it in sush a way that it will take the bait, and set the trap off. Try boxing the trap in, so that it can only be approached from the front. Put it in the corner, with a brick alongside it and a piece of wood across the top, as if it was in a narrow tunnel.

I found it was ant's taking the mouse trap bait (Peanut Butter).

Create a run by placing wood along floor.
Mice like to run along the edges of rooms against the wall.
Turn your trap 45 degrees.
Place wood or anything around mouse trap.
You need to force the mouse to run along the edge and place head over food. Click. Job done.
You don't want mice to come at trap from any angle.
