Micra front heat shield rattle

Near the shield are 2 rubber sheathes for the clutch cable and gear change.
Can i cut it off or should i try something different like jubilee clips?

On the basis the heat shield is there for a reason

Is this the shield that covers the catalytic converter? That actually can be done away with, but whatever happens you don't want the clutch cable drying out as it will get very stiff.
See how you get on with jubilee clips - or stiff copper wire if you prefer.

Not the cat, the section down straight off the manifold, passes oil sump.

Sheathing is just 3 inches away from the exhaust so would prefer leaving it on. Cheerz again mate

Ah, the tin one that covers the exhaust manifold.....rusted through around the bolt holes, no doubt?
This could be really awkward to tie back on, but if you can shift the 10mm bolts - if there's anything left of them - a new one could be worth considering.
If it falls off, I wouldn't worry too much!
