My airbag warning light started flashing on a new shaped Nissan Micra. The local dealer ran the diagnostics (£44 plus VAT), found that the passenger seat sensor circuit had a fault, and believed it was a connector under the seat that needed replacing (£33 plus VAT), the dealer thought it would be a good idea to replace drivers side connector at the same time (another £33 plus VAT), and this took half an hour (£55 plus VAT). I took a look when they had finished, and realized that this connector is flexed every time the seat is moved, and the wires are not really tucked away, so a car vacuum nozzle could easily disturb them. I don’t know which is the most upsetting, that it cost over a hundred pounds to fix a simple loose connection, or that the design is so fragile. I really hate cars right now.
