Microbore, Combi boiler

Hi all,

I want to replace my huge floor standing boiler for a smaller hang on the wall combi type boiler the central heating system is Microbore.

Can I use any combi boiler or do I need need a specific type with microbore pipes?

The current boiler is a Worcester Delglo 3,

I'm redoing the kitchen and want to gain some extra space, so nothing really. It is 20 years old.

Just reading the earlier post about boiler age, my take on most thing is "if it's not broken don't fix it" but I belive I can free a great deal of space changing the boiler, any comments.

Never mind why, don't get a combi anything unless you want to give us all lots of repair work of course, (thank you, thank you). These things were put about by the manufacturers as being more efficient. It 's rubbish, a view supported by a recent building research council report. So everybody thinks they're wonderful, and even if they DID save fuel, which is questionable, that's just wiped away by the increased costs of maintenance.

following on from what oilman said, sdw583, i said do not get a potty puma 100e because i have one, I would not have another (it was "Given" to us by the late installer so we had no choice, or idea as i always though one combi is the same as the next, it isnt.)
