Hi experts. I've just removed these isolating valves from behind our en-suite shower. I couldn't turn the screws any more and was starting to mangle them. So I've fitted ball isolating valves (the ones that are £2.68 at Toolstation/Screwfix, with the short black handles).
They are directional and one is marked "MIDBRAS DUMBALL". Are these regular isolating valves, or do they do anything else wrt pressure?
At the same time, I removed and cleaned the thermostatic cartridge in the shower (hard water area) but I seem to have done something wrong because the hot water is flowing normally, but when I put the cartridge back in after a few hours of descaling, the hot water pressure is completely lost in the mix with the cold.
Cheers.
