I'm interested in this item:

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p51216 (a Draper GD50W).

The seemingly low 50W motor concerns me. I've got a couple of mini rotary tools (both 240v, one is 90W, the other 120W) and the motors seem pathetically weak, i.e. if I apply any pressure on the tool, the motors slow right down, or grind to a halt.

So when I saw the above Draper, I thought it might be even more robust due to the fact it was powering grinding wheels, but running those on 50W seems even more unrealistic. My bench grinder is 300W, and I wouldn't want it any less powerful.

Am I misunderstanding something here ?

General hobbiest crap that will sell to people that don't understand. Its not even cheap for what it is!

Why would you want a 300w motor to turn a 25mm x 1mm wheel, or whatever on a rotary tool?
