Hello Everybody

I know somebody who has a wall mounted bathroom fan to remove steam etc which is mounted directly above the shower. I have referred to the fan in a previous topic and the present fan no longer works.

If the person wants the fan replaced what would be the minimum IP rating? (despite my electrical knowledge I am a bit rusty on IP ratings).

Also I take it the fan would require RCD protection which if an ordinary fan with live and neutral may be supplied from an RCD FCU but with fans with a timer been supplied from 3 core and earth cable from the lighting circuit how would this be achieved? The propert currently has no form of RCD protection.

Many Thanks

rcd protect the lighting circuit.. simples

IPX4 for equipment in zone 1..

no switches allowed in zone 1 or 2 though, so fan isolator needs to be outside of zone 2.
