I've had a quick search but I think mine is an anomoly that might not have been asked before.
I have an old brick built septic tank with an interceptor trap with it's original Victorian plug still in place, therefore does not pass foul air back up the soil from the tank. Adjacent to this is the original over ground vent (low level with a small metal grill covering the face).
I've removed the external vent of the soil that was installed in the 1970's as I'm making changes to the internal soil route but am struggling to come up with an acceptable internal AAV location and wondered if it's;
a/ acceptable to rely solely on the external vent that is on the house side of the system.
b/ reduce the soil stack in the vertical plane and pass in to the loft space and use a small diameter AAV here?
Many thanks,
Simon
