Mira 88 shower

Hi, I have a dripping Mira 88 shower and have read the comments above but I am having trouble getting the front off to get to the washer. I have taken off the temp control dial and the C clip but now I am stuck. Should the dial pull off the spindle? Is there a tool I can use.

I have one of these, I got an exploded parts diagram off the web (you can buy an overhaul kit with new O-rings) but had difficulty putting it apart.

Until, having opened the casing, I put the knob back on and gave it a turn (I was about to bin it), the screw thread pushed the innards out of the case.
