Mira Event XS Replacement

We've has a Mira Event XS shower for a good few years now and it stopped working this morning while my wife was taking a shower.

Can they be replaced with a Triton EasyFit T80 Thermo Electric show like this one from Wickes?

I'm asking because currently the Mira has hot & cold supplied, but the Triton only takes a cold feed, because it's an electric shower I assume. The shower is alreeady on it's own fuse in the CU but the thing I'm wondering is can I just block off the hot supply & just use the cold?

What you have is a type of power shower, fed from gravity hot and cold water usually because it has a pump. The T80 is not a suitable direct replacement,it's an instantaneous electric shower ,needs a dedicated electric circuit and mains cold water supply.
Your existing electric circuit for the shower is unlikely to be suitable

Am I right that Wickes don't do power showers, just electric ones, or do they call them something else? They don't appear to sell the current Mira Event models, or anything called a power shower.

I think you are correct.
Why not replace with another Mira event xs ,which are still available on Amazon for instance.

Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do, Wickes had a good deal on that Triton but it’s not that good if it’s not suitable so I’ll just take it back.
